According to a well-placed Academy insider, Sunday's Academy Awards show is not the predictable event many think it is. "The idea that 'The King's Speech' is going to have a big sweep seems way off, according to my inside track," said the source. "You can look for a big upset in the best actress category -- I hear Annette Bening is going to win over Natalie Portman. And I also think the David Fincher is going to get best director for "The Social Network."
Also, everyone that thinks that having 10 best picture nominees is the way to go: you win. "Having 10 films in the race for best picture is here to stay," said the source. 'The studios obviously get a financial benefit, which is good for everyone in the business, and more importantly, having so many films thrust into the public changes the course of culture. The Academy is not going back to five nominees anytime soon."
