Ed Sheeran will star in an hour-long concert special set to air on NBC this Sunday, which prompted us to think about all the warmhearted gestures the singer-songwriter has made to his devoted fans.

From assisting with marriage proposals to surprising one very excited teen with an impromptu duet, the 24-year-old "Thinking Out Loud" singer continues to delight music lovers wherever he goes.

Here are seven awesome moments that made us love Sheeran even more:

1. When he helped his musician pal pull off the perfect proposal

In July, Jake Roche of the band Rixton popped the question to singer Jesy Nelson with a little musical accompaniment from Sheeran. In addition to sharing Instagram footage of the special proposal, Roche also took to Twitter to thank Sheeran for traveling five hours to be part of his big day.

2. When he paused his own concert so that two fans could get engaged

At an Austin, Texas, concert in May, Sheeran was performing "All of the Stars" when he invited the pair onstage. The singer later tweeted about the proposal, admitting that he "might've welled up" watching the happy couple get engaged.

3. When he surprised a 13-year-old fan with a duet in the middle of a mall

Sydney Bourbeau was performing at a benefit for the Edmonton Humane Society in Edmonton, Canada, when she was unexpectedly joined onstage by Sheeran. She later took to Twitter to call the duet "the best moment" of her life.

4. When he accepted a fan's proposal, days before her death

Katie Papworth, 19, was going through her second battle with cancer when she met Sheeran backstage at his concert last October. Papworth presented Sheeran with a ring and he accepted her proposal. Sadly, she died the following week, according to a representative for the Les Hoey MBE DreamMaker Foundation, the charity that helped arrange the meeting. Sheeran tweeted that he was "devastated" to hear of her passing.

5. When he serenaded a couple at their wedding for their first dance

Sheeran showed up at the nuptials of Kya and Matt Debono in Sydney, Australia, in March to serenade them with his ballad "Thinking Out Loud." The surprise appearance was arranged by KIIS 1065 hosts Kyle & Jackie O after Kya and Matt told the radio show that they were struggling to pay for the wedding after Kya, a mom of two, lost her own mother. "Just surprised this lovely [couple's] first dance," Sheeran wrote alongside a sweet Instagram photo documenting the occasion. "Available for weddings, birthdays and bar mitzvah's, contact your local super market for details."

6. When he visited "Sesame Street" to perform an educational song

Elmo, Grover, Cookie Monster and other furry friends joined Sheeran as he sang about classroom etiquette in an original song, "Two Different Worlds," in April, and it was adorable.

7. When he performed with none other than the Rolling Stones

Sheeran joined the legendary group onstage during their Kansas City show at Arrowhead Stadium in June, contributing guitar and vocals on their 1978 song "Beast of Burden."
