All pet owners know that after a long day of work or time away, often the best part of coming home is an excited, slobbering doggie welcome.
A new commercial by Coldwell Banker called "Home's Best Friend" shows the adorable yearning of several dogs as they stare out the window and wait agonizingly for their owner to get home, and then the joyful reunion when that door finally opens. Adding to the "awww.." factor is that six of the dogs featured in the spot are rescues or dogs with disabilities who were adopted on the day they were scheduled to be euthanized.
Dogs like Max, a terrier mix stray saved by non-profit rescue agency The Dexter Foundation and then later adopted through Adopt-a-Pet, is featured in the commercial along with other rescue dogs named Scarlett and Bailey.
The dogs also have served as the inspiration for the company's Homes for Dogs project in which Coldwell Banker has partnered with Adopt-A-Pet and pledged to find homes for 20,000 dogs this year.
"Our real estate company has been finding homes for humans for over 100 years, so why not help out man’s best friend, too?" Coldwell Banker media engagement senior manager Lindsay Listanski told TODAY.com.
