Every dog has it's day and one woman in Georgia is making sure that's the case for Chester, a terminally ill dog she rescued.

Animal Ark Rescue had taken the pup in after he was found at a high-kill pound back in April. The shelter had hoped to find a loving home for Chester during his final days battling cancer. Just when Chester's fate seemed doomed, a small miracle happened.

About three weeks ago, Nicole Elliot rescued Chester from Animal Ark Rescue and went on a mission to complete a doggie bucket list and make his last days the best yet.

"I had to consider it for a while and decide if I could handle it. I decided it would be an amazing experience to take on. It will be so tough to lose him shortly, so I decided to take the time he has left (which is undetermined, but not guessed to be very long,) and make it as happy as I can," wrote Elliot on a Facebook page she made to document Chester's final days.

The response Elliot has been incredible. In about a week, she's received over 36,000 likes with people sending positive thoughts and well wishes to Chester. The outpouring of love for this once neglected pup is immense and extends well beyond his owner.

While Elliot notes that Chester is still as sweet and loving as ever, his poor health often takes a toll on what he can and can't do. But despite this, Elliot is determined to make sure that each of Chester's last moments are memorable. She's even created a bucket list for him to give him an "awesome final ride," as she mentioned on the Facebook page.

On Chester's first day with Elliot, she took him on a shopping spree and gave him an oatmeal bath, according to the Facebook page. Since then, she's given him such treats as a pup sundae and a Nathan's hot dog as well as taking him swimming.

Other plans she has for Chester are throwing a birthday party and planning doggy play dates.

While Chester's health is frail and his future is unknown, Elliot is committed to making sure Chester lives every day to it's fullest and enjoys every moment. Looks like doggy dreams do come true!
