Peacock falls for ceramic swan, discovers love is for the birds

The heart wants what the heart wants, but we don't think there's a happy ending in sight here.

Unrequited love: It's for the birds, right?

In this case, that's literally true. A feral neighborhood peacock from New Orleans named Mr. P was recently captured on camera swanning around (well, peacocking around), plumage held high and mighty, before his intended mate.

Alas, she just sat there, still as stone. Because she's a ceramic yard decoration.

The adorable (if somewhat pathetic) video is starting to draw a following on YouTube, though. Perhaps someone out there knows of a swan (or peahen!) who's willing to respond to Mr. P's lovelorn status, they can let us know.

Because we don't think love is on the wing for Mr. P.
