Call it panda porn.
Researchers at China’s breeding center for giant pandas were concerned over the way Ke Lin repeatedly rebuffed her male companion, Yong Yong, every time he tried to mate.
So to help get Ke Lin in a more amorous mood, researchers played a video of other pandas breeding in the wild.
The racy video apparently did the trick. Ke Lin lost her inhibitions and finally accepted her partner’s advances.
Because of the destruction of their natural habitat, most giant pandas are now bred in captivity. However, female giant pandas are fertile for only a few days every year and many lose sexual interest once domesticated, according to scientists.
Both Ke Lin and Yong Yong live in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, in China’s Sichuan province.
