Here at TODAY.com, we spend what some might consider an inordinate amount of time looking at pictures of cute little critters. Hey, what can we do? It’s part of the job. In any case, while not every member of the staff is cripplingly smitten with felines, when I stumbled upon a gallery of “Famous Paintings Improved by Cats” (courtesy of the endearingly strange humor site Sad and Useless), I felt obligated to share it with some of my cat-fancying colleagues. After a round of rapturous gasping, it was decided that we should, in turn, share this inspired splendor with you, our readers. While the sight of these furry re-renderings might have caused Rembrandt, Botticelli, Monet and their esteemed peers to cough up hairballs of their own, we thought you might enjoy them.
