Horse adopted by L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. gives birth to filly

Ladybug was adopted earlier this year by LA County Sheriff's Deputy John Hargraves, who later noticed the horse looked pregnant after recovering from a near-starved condition. Lady gave birth July 7, 2011. Hargraves has not come up with a name yet but is considering either 'Star' or 'Diamond.' In a few years, she may be John's primary horse for mounted enforcement work.
