Two giant otter pups are trying out the doggie paddle in a kiddie pool at the Los Angeles Zoo. The pair, born on July 10, has been hand raised by caretakers and will continue to be bottle-fed for another few months.
Zoo staff say once the otters have matured enough they will go out on-exhibit.
There are only five zoos in the U.S. that exhibit giant otters. The endangered mammals face numerous survival challenges including illegal poaching and chemical water pollution.
