Bilot's brother, Lee Chandler, is a Grand Valley State University graduate and a member of the Arizona National Guard who is stationed in Afghanistan. Chandler and his platoon adopted Blanco at their base and were determined to find a home for him. Chandler had Blanco flown into Grand Rapids and will be arriving later this month from Afghanistan to pick the dog up.
