After a long day at work, imagine coming home to someone who is beyond excited to see you — and we don't mean your kids or spouse. What if you were greeted by a fluffy, four-legged friend, wagging his (or her) tail as soon as you opened the door?

Well, pet lovers, this fantasy could soon be your reality.

Starting this Saturday, July 23, "Clear the Shelters" is holding its nationwide pet adoption drive. More than 625 shelters across the country will be reducing or dropping their adoption fees for one day to help give pets a loving home and owner. Here's your chance!

Adopting rescue pets has special and significant meaning for TODAY. Our very own Hoda Kotb, Al Roker and Natalie Morales all have shelter dogs in their homes. Check out Hoda with Blake, Al with Pepper and Natalie with Zara:
