A cicada comes out of its shell in Arkansas

Growing up in the Midwest, as a young child my sister and I had what could be described as a "mildly traumatizing" experience involving a park covered with 7 year cicadas that completely freaked us out. It's pretty wild to learn that many places around the world hold festivals in this insect's honor. Do you have an opinion about these transforming creatures? Creepy or interesting?
