Free at last! The flock of 6-week-old Emu chicks was released into an enclosure at a wildlife park in Sydney, Australia.
The jailbirds were hatched in incubators then raised by inmates at a Sydney jail as part of a prisoner rehabilitation program.
Ravi Wasan, a handler at the park, says emus are very curious birds that like to amuse themselves. The chicks will remain on display for another year before being moved to a larger wildlife facility.
Interesting facts; emus can sprint up to 30 miles per hour and their feet have only three toes.
