All moms tell birth stories, but as fascinating as they might be to us, the blow-by-blow versions are usually more than most people want to hear. As a writer, I’m a big believer in the theory of “less is more.” Sometimes, you have to pare a story down to its bones to make the biggest impact. Take the famous, six-word story purportedly written by Ernest Hemmingway, “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.”
In the tradition of Hemmingway’s frugality, or maybe a Zen-like tendency, I’d like to invite you to share your three-word birth story in the comments below. Let’s see how many different ways we can capture the birth experience in a mere three words.
