A 6-year-old boy has received his first harsh financial lesson from a most pitiless authority: the DAD Savings and Loan.

In a response to his son's request for a $20 advance on his allowance, a St. Louis dad drafted a creative rejection letter from "DAD Savings and Loan," whose motto is, "Because, apparently I look like I'm made of money."

The boy had his request denied due to "insufficient funds and a history of not doing your chores."

DAD Savings and Loan also noted that the boy spent $80 on "discretionary entertainment expenses since Christmas," which is an "unsustainable amount."

“If you would like to refute this decision, you can contact our complaint department,” the letter continued, offering “mom’s number,” according to Imgur.

"Thank you for choosing DAD Savings and Loan, we appreciate the chance to serve your financial needs."

The post on Imgur has been viewed more than 4 million times since being posted Thursday on Reddit, where several commenters had a helpful suggestion for the boy: Try Grandma, Inc.
