After thousands of submissions and intense rounds of semifinals, America has selected four tenacious and talented kids to compete for the TODAY’s Kid Reporter title. The contenders were introduced to millions of viewers Thursday on TODAY, and they were each challenged to cover and report a story for the show.

The finalists are Samantha Isler, 11, from Tulsa, Okla; Brody Myers, 8, from Stillwater, Okla.; Deidra Shores, 12, from Memphis, Tenn.; and Jack Hennessy, 10, from Naperville, Ill. On Monday, Nov. 9, each will present a complete report on the world’s largest children’s book, which was unveiled on the Plaza on Friday.

The aspiring journalists were enthusiastic about getting the chance to prove themselves on-air.

Viewers can log on to TODAYshow.com starting Monday at 9:30 a.m. ET until Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET to vote for their favorite pint-sized reporter.  On Thursday, Nov. 12, the winner will be revealed live on TODAY. The champion journalist will receive the TODAY’s Kid Reporter title, plus get a weeklong vacation on Carnival Cruise Line's newest ship. The three runners-up will also receive the cruise.

TODAY’s Kid Reporter contest began Sept. 14, and boys and girls age 8-12 were eligible to submit one-minute videos. Staffers narrowed down the entrants to 16 semifinalists and America chose the four finalists.
