Hoda Kotb’s daughter gave her the most priceless birthday present this year — a sweet rendition of "Happy Birthday"!
The TODAY anchor, who celebrated her 54th year on August 9, posted an adorable Instagram video of Haley Joy, 1, singing while cuddled up in her mama's arms.
Hoda, who authored a children's book, "I've Loved You Since Forever," inspired by her daughter, also expressed her gratitude for her Haley on Thursday’s broadcast, telling Kathie Lee Gifford, “Can you believe I get to have a baby right now? I keep thinking about that.”
She added, “When you hit 54 and you’re blowing out candles, you can’t imagine … like, I get to have her. Sometimes it hits me like a wave.”
Saturday wasn't Haley Joy’s first performance of “Happy Birthday” for her mom. In a surprise video message shown to Hoda during Thursday's Fourth Hour of TODAY, the tiny tot sat with Hoda’s mom and sister to wish her the best. Kelly Clarkson, Maria Shriver, Blake Shelton and Thomas Rhett all sent special birthday messages as well.
And of course, the TODAY family was right there celebrating too, with a champagne toast, cake and birthday sing-along with the cast of Broadway’s “Pretty Woman: The Musical” on the plaza.
So how did the birthday girl celebrate at home? Hoda's mom and sister came into town this weekend to be with her for the occasion. On Saturday, she shared photos on Instagram of the family enjoying sunshine and dining alfresco. Looks like the perfect birthday weekend to us!
