On AMC's zombie thriller "The Walking Dead," Daryl Dixon lives in constant fear of being exposed, but the actor who plays him appears to be all in favor of exposure if it encourages women to breastfeed in public.

Appearing at the HorrorHound Weekend convention in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Saturday, actor Norman Reedus held a ball in the shape of a nipple while posing between two breastfeeding moms in a photo he posted Sunday on his Instagram account, @bigbaldhead.

"Free it!" reads the photo caption. "Love these ladies! Tonight's show is gonna be awesome!!!"

The Huffington Post identified the women as Tammie Hamed and Libby Dalton, who reportedly waited in line to meet Reedus at the event. According to the Facebook page Momma Is a Hippie, where another version of the picture appears, one of the moms said Reedus had "made a comment about boobs and so many babies" before the topic shifted to breastfeeding. "[We] offered to take a nursing pic with him. He was excited and said it was the best pic he's ever taken."

In the comment thread beneath the Momma Is a Hippie post, Hamed described the encounter as "crazy," adding, "He couldn't get any more awesome than this!!!!"

Reedus has had a knack for posting viral Instagram photos of late. Last week, while attending Austin, Texas' South by Southwest Festival, Reedus bumped into none other than Bill Murray. Posing for two pics with the comedian, Reedus described the meeting as "Quite possibly the best thing ever."
