A bouncy seat with an attachment for an iPad has got some parents rattled.
More than one headline asked, "Is this the worst baby product ever?"
The Fisher-Price "Apptivity Seat" sells for $80 and the company's product description promises: "Soothing, entertaining and technology all in one great grow-with-me seat for baby! Lock your iPad device inside the case to protect from dribbles and drool. Play and learning are at baby’s fingertips."
The TODAY anchors sounded dubious.
"Oh no..." Willie Geist said.
Matt Lauer noted that with the baby strapped in, and the iPad inches away, "The baby has no choice."
While Tamron Hall argued that the contraption could be educational, and after all we want to raise tech-savvy children, Carson Daly suggested maybe it would be better just to read your child a book.
And Al Roker wondered what happens when "your baby starts ordering stuff from Amazon."
