If your patience with summer is running out faster than your sunscreen, don't worry — you're far from the only one. A survey from TODAY Parents found that 44 percent of parents think summer is more stressful than the rest of the year.
Parents were split over the worst parts of summer, with the top three being kids soaking up too much screen time, parents having to constantly entertain the kids and hearing the dreaded "I'm bored."
34 percent of parents said the 1980s were the best decade to be a kid in the summer, while only five percent thought that kids have it better now. (Could it be time to drink Tab and lock our little ones outside?)
However, 80 percent of parents believe that summer with kids is still a blast, the survey revealed. Parents' favorite activities included trekking to the pool and beach and playing in the backyard.
So if you're looking for a way to meet other tired, sweaty parents, head outside! We've heard that commiserating about childcare is one of the best ways to cool off.
