Ryan Reynolds has a love of the great outdoors, but over the summer, he's had to enjoy his hikes and adventures without his other love — wife Blake Lively.
Lively is currently pregnant with the couple's second child, and according to Reynolds — and any woman who's ever endured the dog days of summer while expecting — this isn't the time to work up any extra sweat.
"My wife is just extraordinarily pregnant right now, so there's not a lot of hiking in her immediate future — nor do I think it's going to happen the second she gives birth, either," the actor explained to E! News. "I'm told there's some recuperation that's needed."
Recuperation that certainly isn't helped by intense heat and high humidity. As Reynolds so perfectly put it, August is "the worst month on earth to be pregnant."

Of course, now that it's September and temperatures are still anything but mild, Lively might extend that "worst month" honor just a bit.

No word on when mom and dad expect to welcome their new bundle of joy, but we know Reynolds is eagerly awaiting the occasion.
The actor told E! News that having a baby is "the best thing that could ever happen to someone."
