Ryan Lochte is ringing in the holidays one happy man. The Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer has revealed he's going to be a dad!
Lochte, 32, took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a gorgeous underwater shot of him kissing fiancée Kayla Rae Reid's belly. In the caption? An ecstatic message about impending fatherhood.
"My Christmas gift came early this year, can't wait for next year!" he wrote. "Best news I've ever received."
The 12-time medalist's delight should come as no surprise to TODAY viewers who remember him gushing about how he'd like to be a father, too, after his pal and teammate, Michael Phelps, became a dad this year.
"I definitely want a family of my own, and I love kids," Lochte told TODAY during the Summer Olympics in Rio. "There's no doubt in my mind that's the route I want to take."

Lochte and Playboy model Reid, 25, became engaged in October after meeting last January at a Los Angeles nightclub.
The baby news puts a happy end on a chaotic year for Lochte, who was embroiled in a scandal during the Summer Olympics, and later faced angry protesters during his stint on "Dancing With The Stars."
And if Lochte has it his way, he'll be sharing more good news in the future.
Lochte made it clear to TODAY that he wants "a family that's big."
