It'll be a few years before Benjamin and Zachary Shemenski can actually compete in the Olympics (and we'll have to see if they have the athletic chops), but we think they're champions already.
And you'll probably agree after seeing these totally adorable Olympic-themed photos their mom, Meagan Shemenski, and family friend Genevive Collins, have taken of the 8-month-old identical twins!
We also love that mom has given a shout-out to actual Olympians competing in Pyeonchang at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
The shoot was Collins' idea, Shemenski told TODAY. "Our boys were born with a pointy-sticky outy ears and we joked they looked like elves," she wrote in an email. Over Christmas, they did an "Elf on the Shelf" shoot with the babies "that was so well-received by family and friends they kept asking when the next shoot would be!"
The twins were a "surprise," according to Shemenski's Instagram page; she'd already been a mom of two girls before they made their appearance.
"This project was for our friends and family to enjoy," wrote Shemenski. "After the zillionth person suggested the photos are so cute they should go viral ... we took a chance and tagged a few people on Instagram. We didn't really expect anything would come of it and were honored when [TODAY's] Hoda [Kotb] loved them enough to post."
Sure, we've seen babies posed against all kinds of fun and whimsical backgrounds in the past few years, but we have to give extra points for some of the elaborate backgrounds, costumes and props Shemenski and the twins' "aunt" (who is credited as the photographer) came up with.
So will we see more prizewinning photos with the twins? Maybe, writes Shemenski. "As the boys become more mobile, keeping them in one spot is a challenge," she said. "It took hundreds of photos to get the 18 we are posting."
Gold medals all around!
