Mayim Bialik revealed Tuesday that she's been keeping a low profile in recent weeks because she's mourning the death of her father.

The "Big Bang Theory" star's dad, Barry Bialik, died earlier this month after spending two months in hospice care, she revealed in a poignant post on her blog, Kveller. The 39-year-old actress said her family "knew it was coming," but that didn't make the loss any less painful.

"I don’t know what I am ready to share. I don’t know that I am ready to share," she wrote.

And while she has received sympathy from others who've mourned the death of their own parents, she emphasized that the grief she's experiencing is unique as well.

"For those of you who have lost a parent, you know how I feel," she wrote. "You tell me you do. For those of you who have lost someone else you were close to, you also tell me you know how I feel. But you don’t. Because you’re not me losing my Abba."

She thanked fans for reaching out, writing, "I appreciate condolences and care and love, but I am alone in the singularity of my loss."

Bialik added that she's coped by "praying a lot. And remembering a lot. And crying. And also laughing."

The former "Blossom" star also shared a sweet throwback photo of herself with her father on Instagram.
