Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan are expecting a baby girl

Mark Zuckerberg has some exciting news to share, and what better way to do it than on Facebook, of course.

The 31-year-old billionaire is going to be a dad! On Facebook, he posted a picture of he and wife Priscilla Chan, who's cutely holding her growing belly along with their dog, Beast, to announce they're expecting a baby girl. This family of three (we're including the dog) is about to be four!

However, more than just sharing the good news for his family, Zuckerberg included an honest note about the struggles they've faced to get to this point:

"We've been trying to have a child for a couple of years and have had three miscarriages along the way.You feel so hopeful when you learn you're going to have a child. You start imagining who they'll become and dreaming of hopes for their future. You start making plans, and then they're gone. It's a lonely experience. Most people don't discuss miscarriages because you worry your problems will distance you or reflect upon you -- as if you're defective or did something to cause this. So you struggle on your own."

In her only TV interview to date, which aired last year on TODAY, Chan was open about her wish to be a mom.

“Yes, we would love to have kids. But we're so busy taking care of other people's children right now,” she told TODAY's Savannah Gutherie.

Now it's finally come true! While there's no word on the due date yet, Mark did mention they are far enough long that it's safe to assume there is a very low risk of loss.

Zuckerberg added in his post, "When we started talking to our friends, we realized how frequently this happened — that many people we knew had similar issues and that nearly all had healthy children after all. We hope that sharing our experience will give more people the same hope we felt and will help more people feel comfortable sharing their stories as well."

While we can't wait to see the couple's baby girl when she arrives, Zuckerberg already sees a resemblance.

"In our ultrasound, she even gave me a thumbs up 'like with her hand,' so I'm already convinced she takes after me," wrote Zuckerberg.

Maybe we have the creator of the world's next biggest social network on the way? With parents like Zuckerberg and Chan, we wouldn't exactly be surprised.
