Machine Gun Kelly gave TODAY an inside scoop on his newborn daughter’s name and motherhood for actor Megan Fox during his performance on the Citi Concert Series.
Speaking to TODAY's Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin and Carson Daly on June 20, Kelly discussed the origin story of his and Fox’s daughter's name, Saga Blade Fox-Baker, nodding to Fox’s past experiences with miscarrying.
“The five years of her culmination of coming, disappearing, coming back again, disappearing, coming back again — she is an epic story, and that’s what Saga means,” Kelly shared onstage.
The musician added that Saga is an ode to his Nordic heritage, as the name "Sága" in Norse mythology refers to the goddess of storytelling.
“I think she has a storytelling future ahead of her,” Kelly added.
Kelly also applauded Saga’s mother, Fox, during his interview.
“Megan’s a great mom and she’s killing it — I’m so excited,” he said.

Before his performance, Kelly gave a quick shoutout to his other daughter, Casie, whom he shares with ex Emma Cannon, as she stood in the crowd.
“What’s up, Casie? My baby girl!” Kelly said as the video cut to his daughter and the crowd cheered.
In response to the shoutout, Casie put up a playful peace sign and gave a duck lips pout.
Kelly announced the birth of his daughter Saga in March on Instagram, describing her as “our little celestial seed” in his post. He then took to Instagram again on June 17 with a video showing him singing to his daughter. In the caption, he revealed her name for the first time and thanked his partner, Fox, in the caption.
“Saga Blade Fox-Baker ❤️🔥 thank you for this ultimate gift @meganfox,” he wrote on Instagram.
