Posh and Becks finally got the girl.
Victoria and David Beckham yesterday welcomed daughter Harper Seven to their brood, which also includes sons Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 5.
Of course, everyone's buzzing about the numerical name choice.
While the name Harper has been trending for a while, we wonder if Baby Becks’ middle name will do for numbers what her oldest bro’s name did for the New York City boroughs.
TODAY’s The Scoop reported that the Beckhams chose "Seven" both because it’s a lucky number and because the baby was born on Sunday (the seventh day), in July (the seventh month) and at 7:55 a.m. (the seventh hour).
Papa David Beckham also used to wear the number 7 when he played for Manchester United and for the English National Team. (Somehow, the middle name 23 – his number for the L.A. Galaxy – just doesn’t roll off the tongue as easily.)
We give Seinfeld’s George Costanza lots of credit for suggesting Seven as baby name years ago.
Other number names that come to mind? There’s former New York Times reporter and author Jennifer 8. Lee. And Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson famously changed his last name to Ocho Cinco, a nod to his jersey number.
What about you? Have you, or would you, ever give your child a number name? What do you think of the name Harper Seven?
