Pop star Katy Perry has plenty of awards and accolades under her belt but it’s safe to say she considers her baby daughter Daisy Dove her greatest accomplishment.

On Daisy’s birthday Thursday, Perry tweeted that one year ago, her “life began.”

“Happy first Birthday my Daisy Dove, my love,” she added with a heart emoji.

Perry has kept her daughter largely off social media but never shies away from celebrating motherhood.

"It's the best decision I've ever made in my entire life,” she told Jimmy Kimmel in February.

Bloom also shares a 10-year-old son, Flynn, with his ex, Miranda Kerr. Perry added that Bloom has been great throughout her pregnancy and daughter’s infancy.

"So, as much as I was a little bit like, 'I don't need to hear all those stories,' they actually helped," Perry told Kimmel. “Like, 'Oh, you've had a run at this. You know how to do this.'"

“He's been amazing, incredible, and we're so in love and we're so grateful."

In June, she told fashion magazine L'Officiel that her life changed for the better when she became a mom.

"When you have a child, you have someone who looks at you and doesn’t know anything on your resume, doesn’t know anything about your bank account, doesn’t know anything, doesn’t care, and just loves you," Perry said. "Unconditional love. It’s just ... everything I think I was looking for."

She added that after 35 years of “calling the shots” and traveling for her career, she’s slowing things down.

"Now I have this huge responsibility to look after such an incredible gift,” she told the magazine. "It makes you quite vulnerable and reminds you of your own childhood that you want to probably do differently. I want to do it differently."
