Jeremy Renner is on top as a two-time Oscar nominee and star of movies like "Avengers" and the new "Kill the Messenger," but his rise to fame was no overnight success story. He's been building credibility and credits for decades.
But last year, the star has had a major shift in his career-focused life with the birth of daughter Ava Berlin.
When he visited TODAY Friday, Renner admitted, "She's kind of ruined my life."
But wait! It's not what you think. Renner went on to say that having a child has actually given him a new perspective on all of his big achievements. "How much I love my job and all these wonderful things — that means nothing any more," he said.
News that Renner was expecting a child with girlfriend Sonni Pacheco broke in January 2013, and as was revealed in September, the pair secretly secretly tied the knot sometime after.
Having a baby, as so many have discovered, changes everything. "Now I know what real love is," he said. "Best thing that I've experienced in my life."
"Kill the Messenger" opens in theaters Oct. 10.
