Jenna Bush Hager and Kathie Lee Gifford were upstaged on TODAY by the adorable debut of "The Mila and Poppy Hour."

Jenna's daughters, Mila, 4, and Poppy, 2, joined her on stage with Kathie Lee and promptly stole the show with an important message for the crowd: "Mommy has a cat!"

"This has gone awry,'' Jenna said, as the two daughters scrambled to sit on her lap. "At least they chose to say 'mommy has a cat.' What if they said something else?"

Jenna and Kathie Lee were talking about Jenna's weekend getaway in Mexico with her husband, Henry, ahead of his 40th birthday in May when all of a sudden, Poppy and Mila joined in the fun.

The girls marched up to Jenna, leaving their seats in the audience. Poppy yelled "Mommy has a cat!" with delight and Henry laughed from his seat.

"I don't even have a cat anymore,'' Jenna said.

"Maybe she got one over the weekend when you were gone,'' Kathie Lee said.

The girls kept repeating the phrase, even getting the crowd to chant it.

"Kathie Lee is very patient, but you are testing her patience," Jenna said to her daughters. "Have you ever seen Kathie Lee mad?"

It was some karma, according to Kathie Lee, for all the times Jenna and her twin sister, Barbara, probably crashed important functions involving their parents, former president George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush.

"You deserve this,'' Kathie Lee told Jenna. "This is what your parents said you did your whole life growing up."
