Sometimes, when you've gotta go, you've gotta go -- especially when you have a little-kid sized bladder and a perhaps imperfect grip on the potty training concept.
But when it comes to public urination, where do you draw the line? Babble blogger Paula Bernstein was taken aback when a girl who appeared to be around 5 years old peed next to the water fountain in a public playground. She writes:
I know it’s tricky when your kid has to go and there’s not a bathroom in sight. Believe me, I’ve been there. If you happen to be in the woods, feel free to tell your kid to squat by a tree. But if you’re out in public, please make the extra effort to find a bathroom — even if it means packing up your stuff and leaving the playground.
Over at BabyCenter, blogger Betsy Shaw takes a more lenient approach:
I’ve always felt that when the bare bum is tiny and cute enough, it doesn’t really count as a major civic transgression.
What do you think? Is it acceptable for little kids to pee in public?
