Hurray for Haley Joy!
Hoda Kotb’s precious little girl turns 1 on Valentine’s Day, and the proud mom celebrated a little early on social media since she’s in South Korea covering the Winter Olympics.
The TODAY anchor shared video on Tuesday of an adorable birthday celebration she held for Haley Joy before her trip. In the clip, she sings “Happy Birthday” to her daughter while presenting her with a cake that featured the sweet message, “Yay Haley!”
“It is already Valentine’s Day here in South Korea — and I am missing my Valentine’s baby,” Hoda wrote. “We celebrated her b’day before I left. Could have been better (with) camera placement. Love you little one!”
In a recent essay for TODAY’s Voices series, Hoda shared what she felt when she adopted Haley Joy last February, writing that her child filled a huge hole in her heart.
“To everything that ails me, she's the cure,” Hoda wrote. “It doesn't even matter what the problem is. I've never looked at someone and felt all my problems melt away. I didn't even know that emotion was possible. I didn't know any of these emotions were possible. I thought I understood love, but I didn't. I thought I understood motherhood — because I have a great mom — but I didn't.”
