Halle Berry and husband Olivier Martinez are an international couple, so it’s only fitting that they chose a baby name with worldly flair for their newborn son. People is reporting they’ve chosen the name Maceo-Robert for their new baby, who was born on October 5. The couple has not confirmed the name, but it was shared on the blog of a friend.
Maceo is a Spanish name meaning “gift of God.” The name is a nod to Martinez’s heritage; although he calls France home, his father was Spanish, and named Robert, too.
Berry, 47, is having a banner year. First, she got “the biggest surprise of her life” with her second pregnancy. Then, she married Martinez in July. Last month, an anti-paparazzi law she championed was signed into law; it penalizes photographers who take snaps of celebrity kids without permission.
