There's a new baby Duggar on the way!
Jill Dillard, one of 19 children in the Duggar family, announced Wednesday that she and husband Derick Dillard are expecting their first child, due in March.
"We are so excited," Jill told People, noting she found out the happy news while the couple was visiting her parents' home recently. She had already taken two pregnancy tests, which turned out to be negative, but her siblings insisted she try again.
"My sisters were asking if I was pregnant and I’m like, no, and they’re like, well mom has pregnancy tests upstairs and you could be pregnant so you should take one. It was more to prove them wrong — like, we’re not pregnant, I’m going to show you so," Jill told People.
"It was surreal," Derick told the magazine about seeing the test return a positive result. "We were shocked. Both of us are so excited."
Jill described it as "freaking out" at first. But now, the couple is looking forward to finding out the gender of the child and planning for the little one's arrival, they told People.
"As far as our future, we’re not trying to have kids, we’ll just see what God brings along," Derick told People.
"We’re hoping to have as many kids as God will give us," Jill added.
Jill and Derick were married on June 21, about eight and a half weeks ago, after a traditional courtship. Both conservative Christians, they saved their first kiss for their wedding, and, Jill told People, "It was worth the wait."
Jill, 23, the second-oldest Duggar daughter and the first to marry, is studying to be a midwife. Derick, 25, is an accountant. They were introduced by Jill's father, Jim Bob Duggar, who with wife Michelle has 19 children, the stars of TLC's reality series "19 Kids and Counting."

Jim Bob told TODAY that he met Derick two years ago while doing humanitarian work in Nepal. "I thought he and Jill had a lot in common and would hit it off," he said. "Needless to say, they haven't stopped talking since. They’re a match made in heaven and Michelle and I couldn’t be more thrilled."

Jim Bob and Michelle eschew birth control, instead leaving the number of children they have "up to God."
Jill has said she and Derick plan to take a similar approach.
Jill's youngest sibling, Josie, was born prematurely with health problems but is now a healthy 4-year-old. Michelle Duggar, 47, has told TODAY that her child-bearing years may be behind her and she's enjoying being a grandmother to the three children of her oldest son, but she's open to having more children of her own.
"We would be open to more if God saw fit to bless us with more," said Michelle, who suffered a miscarriage in 2011.
