New year, new fear.  Tables (especially coffee tables), the favored handholds amongst the cruising set, sent more than 143,000 kids to the emergency room in 2009. Hopefully Pottery Barn's website won't crash from the onslaught of parents checking out cushy ottoman/coffee tables. 

The holidays are all about spending time with family but the snow storm that blanketed the East Coast left a lot of people spending too much time with their families.  Do you think the guy who got stuck in his own personal wedding planning hell would have traded places with the gal who accidentally ate the marijuana-laced cookie?

It's no secret that infertility treatments are expensive and insurance rarely covers it.  The financial realities of the procedures often prohibit lower-income couples from receiving the treatments. There's a huge online debate about whether or not this is a problem.  Where do you fall in the debate between "if they can't afford the treatment, they can't afford the baby" versus "this technology should be widely-available to anyone wanting a family"?

Are you charging your husband rent on your uterus?  Women whose husbands are eager to have a baby are now bartering with the guys in a "I'll give you a baby in exchange for a new house and a pair of Pradas" manner.  Brilliant negotiating skills or just a way to make kids feel really crappy when they find out their mom wanted a new handbag more than she wanted a new baby?
