Christie Brinkley is celebrating the love story between fellow former supermodel, Iman, and her late husband, David Bowie, by sharing a heartwarming memory about the the couple.
Brinkley posted an Instagram photo of Iman and Bowie shortly after the birth of their daughter, Alexandria, whom they are holding in the picture.
“Iman always told the story in such a charming way...‘It took two blondes to get me pregnant David Bowie and Christie Brinkley!’” she wrote in the caption.
Brinkley then continued by explaining how Iman told her that in Somalia, they believe that one way to help someone having trouble getting pregnant is to hold a baby all day.
“So I handed her my baby, Sailor, and she held her all day long ...and sure enough, it worked! After 7 years trying without luck... Iman got pregnant!” Brinkley wrote.
Iman and Bowie, who died Sunday at age 69, welcomed "Lexi," their only child together, in August 2000.
“So beyond her great beauty and business savvy, and beyond Bowie's music and art, I always felt a sweet connection to this stunningly gorgeous and creative couple,” Brinkley wrote. “Today my heart aches for Iman, and Alexandria for their untimely and unbearable loss. My deepest sympathy.”
