Nearly two weeks after losing his mother, Carson Daly has shared a throwback photo of her that’s both sweet and heartbreaking.
Carson on Thursday posted a picture of himself with his late mother, Pattie Daly Caruso, that was taken when he was a young boy.
“This is what unconditional love looks like. God give me the continued strength I need right now,” he wrote.
Carson previously shared other tributes to his mother on Instagram, including a snapshot of a memorial on her star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars in California.
She was awarded the star in 2005 in recognition of her long and distinguished career as a local TV host.
Carson also posted a picture of a touching poem written in 1932 by Mary Elizabeth Frye called "Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep."
It includes the line, "Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die.''
Pattie Daly Caruso died Sept. 17 at the age of 73.
Her family said in a statement that Pattie “touched so many lives with her kindness, her giant spirit, and her love of life. She will be terribly missed by her family and the world, but her spark will shine for eternity.”
