Thelma has Louise. Bert has Ernie. Turner has Hooch. And, thank goodness, like Han Solo, photographer Rocío Preciado has Chewbacca.
The photographer from Hermosillo, Mexico, is the proud owner of a dachshund named after the famous Wookie, and to celebrate the dog’s 12th birthday, a movie-themed photo shoot was in order. Now, faster than you can say “Millennium Falcon,” the images are going viral.
“As you can tell, I'm a big ‘Star Wars’ fan,” Preciado told TODAY.com. “I've had this idea for a while. I even made the costumes myself."
Preciado’s nephews, ages 4 and 7, posed as Han Solo and Darth Vader at a local park in an attempt to emulate the woods in “The Return of the Jedi.”
“This is the kind of shoot that I love the most, trying to create a special mood that allows your imagination to travel to places — often from childhood memories, all of that with a mix of pop culture,” the owner of Cuije Photo says, adding that the response to the pictures has been unexpected.
“I think it has to do with the fact that there's a wide generation of ‘Star Wars’ fans that have children and the pictures somehow move them,” Preciado adds.
Check out the images and the behind-the-scenes video below. And, of course, may the force of adorableness be with you.
