Botox Mom says she's done injecting daughter

We are hoping (yet doubt) this is the last we hear of Botox mom… but here’s the latest:

The UK tabloid The Sun (which originally broke the story in March) reports that British-born  Kerry Campbell, the beautician mom who once boasted about injecting her 8-year-old with Botox in order to make her prettier and pageant-ready, is now saying she’s sorry.

"I cannot put into words the remorse I feel,” Campbell told the Sun. “I am going to seek therapy for my obsession with looks so I will no longer push my insecurities about appearance on to her."

The Sun says Campbell was speaking from her home in San Francisco, after daughter Britney was taken away by authorities. On Monday San Francisco Human Services Agency Director Trent Rhorer declined to comment on the case, citing confidentiality laws in juvenile cases. But in a statement, he said his department is no longer involved in the case.

The Sun reports:

Officials from the US Child Protection Unit have now taken Britney from her San Francisco home to stay with relatives. They have banned her mum from any contact with her until an investigation is complete.

(Tiny factoid: There is no such department as the US Child Protection Unit. There is Child Protective Services, which falls under the Human Services Agency. In California, county welfare agencies have jurisdiction only over families that reside in their counties.)

Meanwhile, the San Francisco Chronicle is questioning whether Botox mom is really who she says she is and whether she actually lives in the city.

Reporters were unable to track down a San Francisco address or phone number for the woman. Our sources tell us that's because she doesn't live here and isn't Kerry Campbell.

The Chronicle goes on to say:

As for the woman's true identity and where she actually lives, that remains unclear -- but apparently, she isn't a Bay Area resident. How much of the rest of her story was on the level -- the Botox, the child beauty contests -- also is not known.

Hard to tell what’s really going on here. But if you go by The Sun’s report, at least it seems that Botox mom has finally come to her senses:

"I will not use Botox on her ever again. I honestly felt I was helping her. I regret doing it and remain committed to being a good mother and being reunited with my daughter."
