Wearing a skin-tight tan gown embellished with tiny pink and purple flowers, the "Gossip Girl" alum proudly showed off her growing belly as she posed for photographers at the God's Love We Deliver, Golden Heart Awards in New York City.

And the mom-to-be was thrilled to talk about impending motherhood, explaining that pregnancy was dream come true for her. "It’s something that I’ve always wanted ever since I was a little girl," she told Us Weekly. "I never knew what I wanted to do for a living but I knew I wanted to have a lot of kids because I had come from a big family, so it was always important to me. So it’s just the excitement of that finally being here."

According to Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, is stepping up to the challenge of supporting his wife through this life-changing time.

"He’s always good to me," Lively admitted to Us. "That’s like a jerky thing to say because you want to be able to complain about your husband and be that person, but he takes pretty good care of me."

This is the first child for Lively and Reynolds, who wed in 2012. Talking to Vogue earlier this year, Lively said she knew her husband would be a wonderful dad. "He's going to be a great father and leader and patriarch — he's so meant to be all of those things," she said."The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he's the exact realized person that he should be. And so I get to share my life with the person he's become, and we get to grow from there."
