October 8: Cloudy with a chance of meatballs
TODAY Parenting Team contributor Jessica Gil was watching the film "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" when she was struck with the idea to create a special costume for her then-6-month-old daughter.
"The costume is made up of seat cushion filler, yarn and tulle," Gil wrote in a post on the TODAY Parenting Team. "I created a white tutu first then added the seat cushion filler to each layer of the tutu. The meatballs are made up of yarn as well as the spaghetti."
Gil said the costume was a big hit, and kept her daughter warm and snuggly while trick-or-treating. And, the total materials cost was less than $30.
We'd say that's $30 well spent.
