“Weekend Today” will select four viewer families to visit and decorate a room in their home for the holidays. For a chance to be selected for one of these visits complete the entry form below between Saturday, October 25, 2003 and Saturday, November 29, 2003, and tell us why you think “Weekend Today” should come to your home. If your entry is selected, “Weekend Today” host Campbell Brown and a professional celebrity designer will personally visit to decorate a room in your home. Weekend Today’s Home For The Holidays Contest

Official Rules

October 25, 2003

PRELIMINARY INFORMATION: No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. You must be a legal U.S. resident physically residing within the Continental United States (residents of Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and Guam are excluded from entry and participation) who is 18 years of age or older as of October 25, 2003. Contest begins on October 25, 2003 at 6:00AM Eastern Time (“EST”) and ends on November 29, 2003 at 6:00PM EST.

TO ENTER: To enter, complete the online entry form (“Entry Form”) above. The Entry Form will ask for your name, telephone number, email address and other information. You will then be asked to submit an original essay of 100 words or less, telling us why you would like Weekend Today to decorate a room in your home for the holidays (“Submission”) Then press the submit button to submit the Entry Form, along with the Submission. All Submissions must be original, truthful, unpublished, created solely by the submitting entrant, must not have been submitted in any other competition, and must not infringe upon any rights of any third party, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, and rights of privacy and publicity. You may enter once per week per household during the Contest period. Multiple entries received from any person or e-mail address thereafter will void all such additional entries. Entries generated by a script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified. Entries that are incomplete, illegible or corrupted are void and will not be accepted. All entries become the property of the National Broadcasting Company, Inc. (“NBC”) and will not be acknowledged or returned. Any Submission that, in the sole discretion of Sponsor, is deemed defamatory, harassing or otherwise inappropriate for publication will be disqualified. All entries must be received before 6:00 PM Eastern Time on November 29, 2003.

SELECTION OF WINNER AND ELIGIBILITY: Four winners will be selected by Weekend Today (“judges”) on a rolling basis, beginning on October 27, 2003, from all eligible entries received. Winners will be selected in the sole discretion of Weekend Today. Weekend Today will notify each winner by phone and/or mail and/or at the email address provided by winner. Four essays that compellingly make the case that entrant should win the Prize will be selected as winners. By entering the Contest, entrants agree to waive any right to claim any ambiguity or error in these Official Rules, or the Contest itself, and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by all decisions of the judges and/or NBC, whose decisions are binding and final. Winners will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability and publicity release within three (3) days of notification. If any prize notification is undeliverable, or in the event of non-compliance with any of these requirements, the prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner will be selected by the judges from the remaining eligible entries. Employees of NBC and its respective advertising and promotion agencies, its parent, subsidiary and joint venture companies, and members of employees’ immediate families (spouses, parents, children, and siblings and their spouses) and members of the households of any of the above are not eligible.

PRIZE: There will be four (4) Grand Prizes awarded consisting each of the following: Campbell Brown and a professional celebrity designer selected by Weekend Today will decorate a room in your home for the holidays. The style, quality, placement and all other aspects of the decorations will be selected and installed by Weekend Today and the designer, in their sole discretion, and provided to the winner. Entrants agree that if selected as a Winner, entrant will permit Weekend Today to decorate his or her home and to have the home as decorated videotaped for television, even if the entrant doesn’t like decorations selected and installed by Weekend Today. The estimated retail value of each Grand Prize is $2000. This prize cannot be transferred by Winner or redeemed for cash and is valid only for the services and materials detailed above, with no substitution of prize by winners. Limit one prize per family or household. Winners must be willing and able to permit a crew from Weekend Today (including the professional designer), to enter their homes to decorate and to film the Winner, the Winner’s family and the Winner’s home before, during and after the decoration (the “Footage”) and agree that the Footage is owned by NBC and may be broadcast by NBC at any time, including in a segment on home decoration that may be broadcast on Weekend Today in December 2003. Winner must also agree to appear with their families on Weekend Today in connection with winner’s holiday home decoration (in Weekend’s Today’s sole discretion).

Entry constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use winner’s name, city, state, likeness, voice and use and exploit the Submission for the purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide, without notice, review or approval by winner and without additional compensation. Entrants must be the registered subscriber of the email account from which the entry is made. Entries will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification from this promotion. Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw the transmission of this contest or permanently disqualify from any promotion any person it believes has intentionally violated these rules.
