Every woman has something about her body she'd like to hide — whether it's a big bottom or a petite frame. Fashion expert Lloyd Boston shares a few visual tricks to help your problem areas disappear and let your true beauty shine through.

Smart shoppers know that at the start of each season you should take inventory of what you have from last spring, in some cases what's old, is new again!

Be sure to know what works for your body type before trying certain trends. There is a trend that will work for you, but not every style will look good on every person. Remember: trends are options, not must-haves.

Tall and lean The ideal short for women who are tall and lean is the Bermuda short. Try pairing them with a red corset-inspired shirt and striped ballet slipper flats with a delicate ribbon. Because you are already tall, opt to go with a flat shoe instead of a heel. Try Charlotte Russe Bermuda short, $24.99; Le Chateau corset shirt, $39.95.

Bottom blessed
For women who are “bottom blessed,” try a wide-leg pant to balance out the thigh and butt area. Pair it with a leopard-printed top with beading that lightly drapes over the hip area — to avoid adding voluminous fabric on the derriere. Try J.C. Penney wide-legged pant, $36; haleybob.com leopard blouse, $200; Metro 7 tank top, $9.94.

Tummy
Women who are full-figured should not shy away from light colors such as cream and/or white. The perfect dress for a woman with a stomach is a pleated empire waist dress, which hides bulges and other flaws. Try the empire waist dress from Lane Bryant, $119.50.

Full-chested
Stay away from shirts that have pockets on the chest area. Balance out the look with a full A-line skirt, which can help to visually balance out the entire silhouette. Try Eddie Bauer skirt, $49.50; DKNY jeans shirt, $59; Ann Taylor shoes, $108.

Petite
The perfect trend for petites this spring is the cropped jacket. It can make the leg appear longer. Pair a jacket with a long white pant — the white and black combination is really big this spring. Don't be afraid to shop in the petite section of your department store or specialty stores like Banana Republic, Eddie Bauer and J.Crew — their looks are exactly the same but will give you the proper size and length a petite woman needs. Try Laundry cropped jacket, $142; Banana Republic pants, $88; Club Monaco tank, $19.90; Le Chateau shoes $49.95.
