FAVORED FILM: Seven of nine "Best Picture" nominees this year were shot on Kodak film, long a favorite of cinematographers. But digital editing and projection has hurt Kodak's film business and it couldn't afford the $3.6 million annual naming rights fee.
REEL DISAPPEARING ACT: Film reels may disappear in a few years, as more than half of the world's movie screens use digital projectors. Motion picture film processing once accounted for 12 billion feet a year. This year that's expected to fall to 4 billion in 2012.
