The three medalists from the 2014 Winter Olympic snowboarding event share at least one thing in common: They have each won a gold medal.
American Kaitlyn Farrington, who emerged the champion of this year’s Winter Games, joined Australian silver medalist Torah Bright and U.S. bronze winner Kelly Clark. Bright won the gold at the 2010 Winter Olympics and Clark in 2002.
Farrington said her victory hasn't sunk in yet.
“I’m just so happy to be up here with these ladies and join the club,” she said.
That sentiment illustrates the camaraderie that is “very much a part of our culture” in the sport, Bright said.
“It’s about snowboarding. It’s about the progression of snowboarding,” she said. “We (are) all just shredding babes, doing our thing.”
