Since March 2011, the enigmatic folks behind Bad Lip Reading (or, simply, BLR) have been skewering American culture by uploading an addictive series of surreal and flat-out silly interpretations of the lip movements of musicians, movie stars, athletes and other public figures on YouTube. From pop stars to politicians, those spoofed by BLR have found themselves exclaiming the most incongruously bizarre utterances imaginable. And it’s been hilarious.

During the election season, BLR really had a field day, reimagining stump speeches, campaign videos and presidential debates with gleefully absurd abandon. From Paul Ryan boasting about his band "Steak Baby" to Vice President Joe Biden seeming to assert that his "heart beats like a small, one-handed stripper's leg one minute after winning a lottery," even the most eloquent and incisive political statement was rendered nonsensical by Bad Lip Reading.

In the wake of Monday’s 57th inauguration, it was almost a given that BLR was going to recast the stately ceremony. Typically, no one was spared. Take a look and try to keep a straight face.
