Law students at the University of Memphis made a huge social media push to get TODAY's Savannah Guthrie to speak at their commencement, and while she had to decline, the students succeeded at getting her attention.
To say thanks, she sent a very sweet video to the students, offering her well-wishes:
The students used Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #Guthrie4Graduation, sharing messages and reasons they wanted the TODAY anchor to visit Memphis and speak at their graduation.
"I am so flattered, and have loved reading your tweets and hearing about Memphis and hearing about your school," Savannah says in the video, which was posted to the University of Memphis School of Law's Facebook page.
Savannah went on to send her well-wishes to the students, offering them words of encouragement in their final weeks of law school, but in true Savannah form, she made sure to slide in a few jokes.
"I even got this T-shirt, which, I'm really not so small. I don't know that I can ... Oh, for Vale! Right, for the baby," Savannah joked of the baby-sized shirt the students had sent her. "Maybe she'll go to Memphis Law one day!"
