Prince William and his wife, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, will head to India next spring for an official royal visit, Kensington Palace announced Friday.

No word yet on whether the royal couple will bring their two young children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, but the palace said it would release additional details about the trip early next year.
The visit to India will mark the couple’s first time in India. The announcement of their trip coincides with the current visit to England by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his first visit to the Commonwealth in a decade.
The trip will be the royal couple’s first trip abroad since their three-day visit to the United States last December, when the duchess was pregnant with Princess Charlotte.

The pair mainly toured New York, although Prince William did make his way to Washington for a White House meeting with President Obama.
The couple also took a more extensive trip abroad last year when they took a three-week tour of Australia and New Zealand, with Prince George in tow.

That trip provided the world with its first look at the young prince as a toddler. Only nine months at the time, George got widespread attention for a much-publicized playdate at a parents' group meeting in New Zealand. He also paid a visit to the Taronga Zoo in Sydney.
We're crossing our fingers the royal tots join their parents for this next royal jaunt!
