It took President Barack Obama six years, but he's finally on Twitter.

President Obama sent his first tweet from @POTUS Monday afternoon, joking about how long it took "them" to give him his own account.

The White House shared a photo of the commander-in-chief posting the inaugural tweet from the Oval Office.

One particular follower welcomed him to the Twitterverse in noteworthy fashion, expressing a casual interest in his handle.

Of course, President Obama responded with his usual wit, asking former President Bill Clinton if he knew anyone who might by interested in the @FLOTUS handle.

President Obama FTW.
