Al Roker made an astute observation this morning on TODAY: President Obama’s most recent dance moves are reminiscent of a certain "Seinfeld" character.

After making a few remarks and getting a hug from Santa during the National Christmas Tree Lighting on Thursday night, President Obama showed off some thumbs-up dance moves, Elaine-style, to "Jingle Bells" while swept up in the holiday spirit.

"Besides lighting up the tree, the president gave us a gift,'' Al said. "The gift, of dance."

"At least he's on the beat,'' Willie Geist explained, coming to the defense of the president.

While Obama's moves hearkened back to Elaine on "Seinfield,'' daughters Malia and Sasha avoided any on-camera facepalms because it was nothing they haven't seen before. The president joined the ranks of politicians who have let loose in front of a camera when he busted out some dad moves during an appearance on "Ellen."
